Thank you Mr Fogg kind sir for hosting my great friends Birthday celebration this week, what a fabulous establishment you have created.
As a group, we were already big fans of the older brothers and sister of this place – Bunga Bunga, Bart’s and Maggie’s, so we knew it’d be impressive.
Subtly hidden down Bruton Lane, a titchy side street in Mayfair, it’s a challenge to find. Look for the Victorian lantern to guide you and don’t be scared….
Once you get through the huge wooden doors the creepy bird cages, rusty penny farthings and old helmets will make you feel very young and naïve. Not a single crevice of this swish cocktail bar is spared from antique artifacts, stuffed animals or suspicious ornaments. It’s fascinating!
For those who are unfamiliar, Mr Fogg’s is named after Jules Verne’s of ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’, which condones the striking indoor hot-air balloon and unmistakable traveller spirit.
But, ‘hot air’ is far from what Mr Fogg’s is blowing!! The adventurous Victorian theme is fun and fabulously executed, creating a thoroughly entertaining visit for all.
Having taken in the flawless décor, attentions were turned to the real gem – the exquisite cocktail menu created by some exceptionally talented barmen. The list of intriguing concoctions are inspired by the great Phileous’s shore to shore adventures and makes for fascinating reading, if one has the time…..
The glamorous staff are very professional, looking absolutely charming in their swanky cavalry attire.
Look at these two beautiful London postcode bangles enjoying the fun…
All in all, the evening was fabulous. And now kicking back on a chaise longue, whilst sipping champagne cocktails and being stared at by a suspiciously stuffed tiger, is a totally accessible scenario thanks to Mr Fogg.
