The Admiral Codrington – a fine Kensington pub

The Admiral Codrington in the heart of South Kensington triumphs in achieving the ultimate cosy English pub feel, particularly at Christmas time with its fur cladded bar and glittering tree. Last week I was lucky enough to visit twice, both times successfully chancing a table for dinner and very pleased with the standard all round. I can proudly announce that the Admiral Codrington is new winter favourite!

There was one exception to perfectly served food. My advice would be to avoid the sandwich starter options if you want space for any more courses…

Whilst the Ad Cod joyfully entertains sloshed Patron-guzling youngsters in one room, it is also calmly serving up fine food to their superiors in the next. This flexibility is what makes everyone feel welcome, making the pub a great first choice for a whole host of occasions. I look forward to cosying up to their fire with a sticky toffee pudding on my next visit.
